Black & White or colour - or even sepia? I always used to shoot B&W and process it myself and do all that wet darkroom stuff. Usually straight prints, but sometimes sepia or blue or something stranger - I think I played with selenium tints or prints at some stage. Sometimes hand tinting.
These days it's so easy to start off in colour and move to B&W or sepia. Trouble is, it's not always clear which is the best rendition. Although, for my money, the B&W is often the strongest.
